The only superhero with no real powers. Specialty gadgets including bat-a-rang, smoke pellets and glide cape are his only defense. This is a rich dude with a vendetta. The most recent movie installment has grossed over 400 million dollars, not bad for a bat and his nemesis a discarded playing card.

When growing up I too wanted to be part of the League of Justice, not Aqua man, Superman or the Green Lantern. I was going to be Palate Pleasing man. I was the caterer to the League. I served specialty meals to the entire super hero entourage.

Here’s a list of some of their special orders;

Wonder Woman – Everything was on the rocks!

Bat man – Fettuccini with a special Alfredo sauce

Spider Man – Aunt Mae’s apple pie

Aqua man – Lobster bisque

The Flash – Microwavable popcorn

Recipe: They all enjoyed my lamb shank:

Marinated overnight with olive oil, fresh garlic, black pepper and salt

Next day: Sliced onions on the base, dry red wine drizzled over the shank

Black current jam rubbed abundantly over the shank

Slow cook at 325 covered for two hours

Increase heat to 375 and uncover to finish, approximately half hour

Unfortunately, the days I prepared the above recipe all havoc broke loose in the cities of the world, ‘cause the leagues members were satiated and couldn’t move out of their pleather seats.

Michael Phelps… boy does he eat his Wheaties!

Congratulations Michael on your incredible 8 Gold medals!

Olsen twins look out he’s a big “10″.

Healthy eating starts with a healthy attitude. Smiling, laughing and enjoying life! Get some fresh air, enjoy a brisk morning walk, exercise and spend time with loved ones.

Tired, feeling weighed down – reduce the amount of starch in your diet, eat more fiber, reduce your sugar intake and eat plenty of raw vegetables.

As soon as we get home from shopping, the first thing I do is peel and cut the carrots. I put them in the fridge, submerging them in water-an easy snack anytime!

Go for a cup of low fat latte or invite that special one back for brunch.

Fresh fruit, low fat cottage cheese, white tuna, scrambled egg whites and cut tomatoes and cucumbers make a great start of a day.

Be very careful of packaged juices, they may contain added sugars. Drink water when thirsty. If it’s hot outside drink room temperature water, your system will thank you.

For many years I have been a soda junkie (an instant sugar high). My wife only drinks water and has taught me to have my soda in moderation-special times only!

Keep in touch with friends and family that made you feel good inside and always make time for yourself!

Happy Birthday Madonna!

The materialistic girl hit the big 5-0. How does she do it? Her strict fitness regiment and good eating!

One of her favorite food items is sushi, low in fat, good source of protein (fresh fish) and minerals and vitamins (nori).

Before I give away my secret- simple seasoning for sushi rice, I would suggest keeping in your cupboard two types of seaweed.

1. Kombu-this dried seaweed is excellent to enhance soups, stocks and dressings.

2. Nori-Toasted nori is best for making perfect sushi. There are many qualities to nori; two that are readily available are green and blue, the latter being better.

Choose your equipment wisely! A proper rice cooker will always (with consistency) make you perfect sticky rice. A good refrigerator will keep your vegetables and fish at proper temperatures. Peelers and knives must be properly sharpened and cared for, specifically specialty sashimi knives!

Sushi rice seasoning – to be used for 10 cups uncooked sushi rice

Natural rice vinegar 425 ml

Sugar 150 ml

Salt 1 Tbsp.

Kombu 1 small piece

Mirin 1 tsp.

Combine above ingredients and mix until sugar is dissolved

Using a wooden paddle gently mix cooked rice and seasoning; rapidly cool the rice with a fan.

Happy rolling!
